House GOP Designates July 14 as ’Crypto Week’ to Advance Digital Asset Legislation

The US House of Representatives has marked July 14 as 'Crypto Week,' a dedicated day to recognize innovation in digital assets. House Speaker Mike Johnson, alongside Financial Services Committee Chair French Hill and Agriculture Committee Chair GT Thompson, announced the initiative as part of a broader Republican strategy to advance former President Donald Trump's digital finance agenda.

Key bills, including those targeting stablecoins and the structure of cryptocurrency markets, will be debated and voted on during the session. Johnson emphasized the move as a decisive step to position the US as a global leader in the digital economy.

The stablecoin bill, a top priority, has shifted focus from the House's STABLE Act to the Senate's GENIUS Act, likely to expedite the legislative process. Trump's public endorsement of a stablecoin bill has further accelerated efforts, with an August deadline now in sight.
